This is a collection of 18 outfits I created from 100 pairs of vintage Levi’s.
I purchased the Levi’s from a thrift store in the summer of 2022 for $1 each and started to embroider on them, then I silk-screened on them. Then I stared at the piles left over for a few months because my hands were too sore to embroider anymore, and it hit me. I will take them apart and see how much fabric I can use to make clothing.
Everything in the series of photos is handmade by me, I got a friend to give me the thumbs up on the designs after sewing them for the first few months of 2023. I produced the photo shoot to document the clothing. The models are from Key Models, and the location is Doris Land, a studio I have been renting since January 2022.
I created this line because I love making things, I love drawing, and I love lines. What I wanted to do with this was create a line that was full of dimension that was unisex and to show people what is possible with your closet. Clothing has much more life than we give it credit for; often, we discard it when it develops the smallest of flaws. If you mend those flaws, something much bigger comes to light, and you curate something very personal that then takes on a life of its own.
The photographs were published in Selin Magazine in April of 2023. You can get a copy here.
