Kasia, the original Paper Doll.

When I crafted this project I thought about people I have worked with who I really love to work with.

The idea behind this concept is kinda weird and I was having trouble trying to explain it to the modeling agencies so that they would let me use one of their models. When I kept running into road blocks I decided to reach out to some old faithfuls and get some images so I can explain myself.

I dismantled the recent promo from Holt Renfrew. My building got 20 copies and only two of us in the building were interested in it so I ended up with 15 copies and my other neighbour only wanted a few.

I ripped apart the pages and used one mag to make a collage and the rest I punched holes in them and strung them together to create outfits I want to put on a person and photograph.

Enter Kasia, the original paper doll. We have been working together for over 8 years. Our first shoot together got us both paid work that lasted for a few years. We have shared stories, I have photographed many stages of Kasia’s life and the milestones. She is always a joy to work with and always up for anything.
